Look how happy these people are to be holding a sign made by Shinzo

BE MINI 2010

4 04 2011

“BE MINI” was an event held by MINI Canada back in August 2010. This event was essentially a big meet for any/all MINI owners held by head office and the GTA MINI Retailers. BE MINI is actually a follow-up to the successful “MINI 50th” celebration in 2009.

We’re pretty lucky to be involved with these yearly events. We get to work with each retailer to help them make their visions a reality. We’re excited to see this event grow over the next few years, then the car builds will get crazier and crazier.

Here are some shots of the 2010 contestants, photos taken by Stephen Ho of Ste Ho Photography (http://www.shutterlit.com/).

Raise Your Flag!

22 02 2011

Check out this MINI Canada promotion for roof decals…

This promo kept us pretty busy in June, basically turning the office into a sweat shop.

Oh yeah, did I mention I (vince) was on my honeymoon for most of the month? HAHA suckers. While they were working into the wee hours of the morning and sleeping on work tables, I was 10,000 miles away in Bali eating fresh mangos that fell onto the ground in front of my private villa HAHAHA, good times.

JUNE!!

22 02 2011

June was crazy… for everyone except me hahaha.

We’ll start off with a PINK MINI in support of Breast Cancer and Markham Stouffville Hospital, car donated by MINI Markham. When wrapping a vehicle, we usually tell clients to bring us a black car… MINI Markham brought us a teal blue one argh. We managed to pull it off and by the end of summer when it came back for vinyl removal, we all pretty much forgot what colour was underneath.

The beginning on June also involved a call from Ferrari of Ontario, asking if we could come down and help them with some stuff. We were hesitant at first, but… HAHA yeah right, I jumped on the 407 and got there as fast as I could. The dealership actually builds some of the locally owned Ferrari Challenge of North America race cars, so they needed to redo some graphics. Here’s the finished product:

It was even cooler when we found the car in the Ferrari Challenge video game oh yeeaahhh

May Continued…

18 02 2011

In May, we were also fortunate enough to help out with a fund raiser called Strut For A Cure (www.strutforacure.com). This event was held by Canadian Super Model Coco Rocha, was hosted by Jeanne Beker of Fashion Television fame, featured a performance by Dragonette and was all in support of children’s cancer. Check out the pictures, we’re hoping we can help out again for their 2011 event!

MAY 2010!!

18 02 2011

So here goes my year in review… I’ll sort through my pictures and go month by month, trying to recollect what happened in 2010.

I don’t remember much about May, just that it was crazy busy. This was the month that Norm joined our team, YAH NORM aka “Lighting x 8”

I only have a few pictures from the month…

First off, a big truck with a big trailer:

I have no idea how these guys can drive something so big. We usually do large vehicles on-site, this was probably the biggest that we’ve had come to our little office.

Next, we took a crack at CF wheel lips:

PLEASEEEE, please read this before calling for a quote: It’s not as easy as it looks, we can’t guarantee how long it will last, and it can’t be done to every wheel style. Pretty cool though huh?

One more…

8 04 2010

While we were at Mini Vaughan, we saw the Burton winter tour vehicle in the back parking lot. We did the wrap a few months ago, but never got to see it again until today. I heard it was at the slopes all winter… so if you saw it and said, “oh that’s nice”, now you know who did it wooT

Mini Vaughan

8 04 2010

Mini Vaughan West needed some work done so Mike and I (Vince) took a little road trip.

This Mini Cooper Classic had a red roof and the customer wasn’t feelin’ it so we wrapped the whole thing with a checkered pattern.

We also had a chance to snap some shots of other work we did including the Mini 50th window decals and Mini Vaughan West’s 2009 Design Challenge car. I know, the design looks kinda wack, but the idea was nice… they got some local artists to come up with drawings and then we took those to make them into a full vehicle wrap.

By the way… does anyone know why it’s Mini Vaughan West and not just Mini Vaughan??? I was thinking that maybe they plan on opening another dealership in Vaughan East, but… this dealership’s already kind of on the east end. Wait, which came first again? chicken or egg? sigh…

Toronto Fashion Week

6 04 2010

Toronto Fashion Week has come and gone, we usually get some wierd “temporary” type jobs for short events. Last week we did 2 on-site jobs for an event company called Candice & Alison (www.candiceandalison.com).

The venue was way too bright so we were called in to “black-out” the windows. To finish off the job, we added silver logos onto the now, black windows, and then put the designer’s logo on the back wall. Sound easy? Those windows were like 5×5′ and we had like an hour to do it all.

Carlsberg

6 04 2010

Okay, so to get this rolling… I’m going to go back in time about a week to show what we’ve been up to.

Over the past few months, we’ve been fortunate enough to be working with Carlsberg Canada… hopefully we keep them happy!

Last week we finished up a sign for the reception area of their brand new office, checkit checkit:

Now we’re just hoping for more jobs (and maybe some free beer)
